Halo Trilogy- The Complete Original Soundtracks (OST)

Halo Trilogy- The Complete Original Soundtracks (OST)Special Limited Edition Five CD set of the complete original soundtracks. The Halo soundtracks' composer is Martin O'Donnell.

Customer Review: Can't Just Cut and Paste

As the title says, you can't just play cut and paste with a "complete" soundtrack. It's either complete or its not. There's no such thing as a "complete" soundtrack that omits an entire CD. Two of my favorite pieces: "The Last Spartan" and "Earth City" are from the Halo 2 Volume 2 Soundtrack. I think it is very deceiving to omit this soundtrack and advertise as "complete". A far better experience is to buy all of the CD's separately to enjoy the entire score. Marty's work for the Halo games is amazing, and you're missing out big time if you skip an entire CD worth of it. As far as the bonus disk, its a nice touch but I agree with the earlier review that it would be much more appreciated if it did not replace a soundtrack.

Customer Review: Not Complete, But Great.

I've been waiting for some sort of boxed set to come out. I love all the music in the series, and I've played the games as well.

Now, some aspects of this boxed set are a little disappointing. For instance, this set doesn't include all the originally released soundtracks. Also there isn't any literature about the music or the games included. All the credits are printed on the inside parts of the box though.

On the positive side, the set comes with a bonus DVD with a Halo Wars sneak peek and preview of the upcoming title's music. The only problem with that is the fact this is supposed to be the Halo Trilogy Complete Original Soundtracks. Not the 'most of the music plus a bit of other game music' collection.

Overall, though, I am satisfied with my purchase. This will make carrying around my favorite soundtracks a lot easier.

I hope in the future we will see another collection, with the COMPLETE soundtracks and literature about the music and games.

Halo 3 Original Soundtrack (2-CD Set)

Halo 3 Original Soundtrack (2-CD Set)From the most successful entertainment launch in history, comes the most anticipated video game soundtrack of the holiday season. Bungie created a new variation on the Game's musical themes this time around. Martin O'Donnell, Bungie's composer incorporated a full live orchestra and chorus which goes "above and beyond" what they've done in the past. Album produced by Nile Rodgers.

Customer Review: Above and beyond the rest!

There is no doubt that the previous Halo soundtracks have been great and mesmerising with a heroic feeling. However with Halo 3 composers Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori seemed to have had a bigger budget and were able to hire a larger orchestra. Here they brought back some of the familiar tracks and tweaked them producing an outstanding soundtrack seem fit for the most successful and recognised video game in history, the unforgettable Halo 3.

Here the content is presented on two great discs, disc one containg 15 tracks and disc two containing 16 tracks. If you enjoyed Halo 3 then I recommend that you grab the soundtrack to relive those great memories of when you fought for mankind.

Customer Review: The BEST one yet!!

The HALO 3 soundtrack is more of an orchestra type of sound more so than the other before it. HALO 2 soundtrack had a lot of popular rock music in it, as well as techo.

This soundtrack brings a return of many of the strong themes present in HALO and HALO 2, as well as Marty O'donell's talented use of variation, just like a master composer. I can find no fault in this soundtrack. The music is more riveting, more vivid and clear and has a great dynamic range, especially in the vocal choir. The Flood portions of music were truly horrific, while titles like Tribute or Greatest Journey are really touching.

In my opinion, this soundtrack is the epitome in soundtracks. It's what you'd expect to hear in top-budget movies. This represents the culmination of catching themes and beautiful music in a 7+ year long series. My hats off to the sound team at Bungie Studios, and whoever they may have worked with. And a big congrats and thank you to Marty to creating such great music!

Bilz Box

Bilz BoxBilz Box is a money puzzle that makes a very creative gift.

Customer Review: Working for your money!

A nice little puzzle. However, the BilzBox may have a flaw, not in design or construction, but in its instructions. I solved the ball matrix in just a few minutes (moderate dexterity required, so maybe for ages 12 & up), however, it would not open. The problem was that the giftor had placed a check on TOP of the plastic drawer, not IN it. This allows the paper check to interfere with the ball motion in the last inch or so, making it very difficult for the push-latch to work. The giftor may not have followed directions to put the check INSIDE the plastic drawer, or maybe the loading instructions were not clear or even non-existant. Put the gift INSIDE the drawer, and all works quite well.

Customer Review: Huge Christmas Hit

Bought three Blitz boxes for Christmas last year. One for my son-in-law with a gift card in it; one each for my then 6th grade and 8th grade grandsons with money in them. They were the hit of the day. Once they opened these gifts, they wanted to stop and solve the puzzles. All other presents had to wait. A bit frustrating for the last one to solve th puzzle, but they just loved them. My daughter has a funny video of the three "boys" on the floor, in their pj's, working intently on the puzzles while some other gifts sat unopened. Will do this again this year for all family members, especially if I can find some different mazes. Great fun gift.

Customer Review: Unique Gift Idea

We bought 2 Buddha Boards to give as Christmas gifts and they were very well-received. We read about the Buddha Board (in a magazine) while waiting at the Orthodontist's office and were very glad that we stumbled upon it. My daughter's teacher thought it was so cool, and was quite impressed by it's originality. The Buddha Board was very well-packaged and arrived in good condition. An added plus: The Buddha Board is not too big/bulky and doesn't take up alot of space (for those who don't like clutter). Overall, a very nice product!

Customer Review: Buddha Board

I would purchase from the supplier again and would highly recommend them to all. Thank you to Amazon for the affiliation with Home Naturals Inc.

Customer Review: Great board

This is a great buy for anybody. I saw my friend riding a wave board and he let me try it when I inquired what it was. It was a lot of fun and very addicting. He told me that if i bought one to get it because the waveboard was better that the ripstik because it had a smoother ride and it was better built. I went to Walmart and was looking at the wave boards and I saw the ripstick G. It looked a lot cooler so I bought it. To tell you the truth, this is the coolest board out there. I love this board and ride it everyday.

The only reason to buy this over a ripstick is if you are going to "grind", which is going on a rail. It is also better built and has a smoother ride than most other boards. If your going to buy it, buy it on Amazon. It's cheaper than anywhere else and it also gets you free shipping.

Customer Review: Love it!!!

My son loves this board! He is 9 years old and it took him a couple of days to get the hang of it, but with the help of the video that comes along with it, he has really gotten good on it. I would highly recommend this product. It is worth the extra money for the quality of this product.

Call of Duty: World at War

Call of Duty is back, redefining war like you’ve never experienced before. Building on the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine, Call of Duty: World at War immerses players into the most gritty and chaotic WWII combat ever experienced. Players band together to survive the most harrowing and climactic battles that led to the demise of the Axis powers on the European and Pacific fronts. The title offers an uncensored experience with unique enemies and combat variety, including Kamikaze fighters, ambush attacks, Banzai charges and cunning cover tactics, as well as explosive on-screen action through the all new four-player cooperative campaign. The addictive competitive multiplayer has also been enhanced with new infantry and vehicle-based action, a higher level cap, more weapons, and a host of new Perks, maps and challenges.

Features:

New Enemies, Environments and Tactics: Face off against ruthless and tactically advanced enemies that will stop at nothing to defend their homelands, from swamp ambushes and tree-top snipers to fearless Kamikaze attacks. Play as a U.S. Marine and Russian conscript across a variety of Pacific and European locations against the fearless Imperial Japanese and elite German soldiers in epic adrenaline-filled infantry, vehicle and airborne missions.

Co-Op Campaign Mode, Call of Duty Style: For the first time in the franchise, Call of Duty: World at War introduces co-op play, bringing fresh meaning to “No One Fights Alone”. Campaign co-op features up to four-players online, or two-player local split-screen, allowing gamers to experience harrowing campaign missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution. Co-op mode incorporates innovative multiplayer components such as challenges, rankings and online stats for deeper re-playability and multiplayer experience bonuses. Co-op mode also features Competitive Co-Op that will show who is really the best player on your team.

Enhanced Multiplayer: Call of Duty: World at War continues the class-based multiplayer action the series is famous for. The addition of vehicle combat with tanks rounds out the multiplayer experience, and features such as persistent stats, player rankings, upgradeable weapons, squad-based gameplay, customizable classes and Perks, have been further enhanced.

The Call of Duty Experience: Call of Duty: World at War utilizes cutting-edge technology including highly-detailed character models, self-shadowing, environmental lighting and amazing special effects to deliver jaw-dropping visuals. Depth of field, rim-lighting and texture-streaming technology bring the adrenaline-pumping combat to life, while physics-enabled battlefields and fire that spreads through environments realistically immerses players into the harrowing and dynamic combat.

Customer Review: Good game, just to short.

I really love the historical accuracy of the game, you get a real scene of how the American troops had to fight for every inch of soil against the Japanese, who where willing to try any tactic to succeed. Same for the Russian front it really bring to life the Russian tactics at the time to essentially overwhelm the enemy with hordes of infantry. The frenzied atmosphere seems alot like what I would imagine combat to be like.

The down side to the game are the same as with COD4, the spawning of the enemies, they will keep getting re-spawned till you reach a certain plot point, this sometime ruins the action as it seems unrealistic. Another downer is the length of the single player campaign, took about 4-5 hours tops. I would only recommend buying this if you plan on playing it online alot.

Customer Review: Might be Good with Time

Well unlike some I have been able to play the very short and buggy solo game so far (about half-way through the Soviet part). However, as always with Activision, I had to find the patch on websites other than their's and I can't get it to run (Windows V. asks to select the program to run the patch). The multi-player is why I buy CoD games and I can't play it.

I'd still pay about $5 for the solo-play and think that it might eventually be worth $25 if they ever de-bug it all. Overall, don't buy yet and see if they fix the problems and lower the price.

Left 4 Dead

Left 4 DeadSet in a modern day survival-horror universe, the co-operative gameplay of Left 4 Dead (L4D) casts four "Survivors" in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying "Boss Infected" mutants. Developed by Turtle Rock Studios and Valve, creators of the Counter-Strike and Half-Life games, the latest AI technology allows for multiplayer games of one to eight players.

A new and highly virulent strain of the rabies virus emerges and spreads through the human population with frightening speed. The pandemic's victims become grotesquely disfigured widely violent psychopaths, attacking the uninfected on sight. As one of the "lucky" few apparently immune to the sickness, you, unfortunately, are also trapped in a city crawling with thousands of the bloodthirsty Infected. Alone, you're dead. But together with a handful of fellow survivors, you might just fight your way to safety.

Players can play as a Survivor or as one of four types of Boss Infected, each of whom possess a unique mutant ability, such as a 50-foot tongue lasso or a giant belly full of explosive methane gas. The gameplay of L4D is set across four massive campaigns. The zombie population of each mission is choreographed by an AI Director that monitors the human players' actions and creates a unique and dramatic experience for them on the fly.

Customer Review: Zombiemania

Left for Dead is a very interesting and entertaining game. It has both, a very eerie and suspenseful atmosphere. If you have ever wanted to be in a zombie movie or experience a zombie attack, this puts you right in the middle of the action. You feel like you are right there and you end up getting caught up in the simple, yet intriguing storyline. What makes it fun is the fact that online there are up to four playable good guy characters in co-op mode either human or artificial. Online, you can also play as a zombie attacking the good guys. There is a statistics scoring system for almost anything that you do to a zombie which is displayed after each level is completed. Don't play alone!

Customer Review: fun but not much variety

I was pretty excited about L4D because i generally like to play co-op games. After reading all the rave reviews, i happily plunked down $40 for the game. After several gaming sessions with friends both lan and over internet, i concur with others that the game is a blast to play (with friends, not so much solo), but i felt that there wasn't much variety after a while.

i like how the director changes things up every time you play the game, but after a while, it's basically the same thing over and over again, a bunch of zombie meat come running at you, peppered by encounters with boomers, smokers, hunters, tanks, and the witch. hopefully valve will generate new content or add some depth to the game mechanics.

Customer Review: Great immersion.Fun gameplay. Way to easy.

Well... As a rabid fan of fallout 1 and 2 I have to say I was impressed through the first half of the game. After playing the game through I have mixed feelings.

---Here is the good----

Immersion! I rarely feel so deeply immersed in a game. Stepping out into the wasteland was emotionally charged for me. Hell I waited like 8 years for that moment.

Great graphics.

The radio stations are very cool (but are seriously lacking in content considering they expect you t play this game up to 100 hours.)

The story was pretty decent (though I felt the way the endings were done was better in fallout 2. Aka they told outcomes..not just a slideshow and a generalized narration based on what i am guessing is your karama).

Supplies were scarce! I had to avoid fights and scrounge every last round because of the lack of ammunition and supplies....... (see below for ....)

Gameplay was pretty decent... (See below for the ......)

----Where the game went downhill----

...... Halfway through the game you get way to much of everything. I was free to hose any and everyone with no thought to ammo consumption. it got kinda quake-ish. I ending the game with like 20+ of almost every drug (buffout, med-x, ect ect.) and more money than I could spend.

...... The game gets WAY to easy by the time you are 2/3rds through, even on "Very Hard". Especially the end sequence......bah.

The end sequence felt rushed imo.

Vats was interesting, but a turn based mode could have EASILY been implemented.

Most Items do not have descriptions. These were one of my favorite parts about the old games. The descriptions were often hilarious. See the entry below

The game, while dark (especially the Dr. Braun part...you will see) lacked much of the humor from previous fallouts. This is the biggest failing of the game besides the unbalanced way that leveling is handled. My suggestion is to download one of the mods available that balances this out... otherwise you will find the game getting easy to the point of boredom when you get higher up in level. If your do not download the mod... at least get the perks that enhance storyline (Like childlike mind, black widow ect.)

Also stupid stuff like not being able to kill children and buy whores ruins a bit of the immersion.

------To Conclude-------

The game is worth buying and playing. It is better than many may games out there. It is missing some of the heart of the older games but still manages to be a respectable addition to the fallout series. I was pleasantly surprised how well they managed to do, as I had little faith.

Customer Review: Oblivion.. in the year 2000!

Alright let me start off by saying I'm happy I didn't buy Fallout 3. Used a friend of mine's copy.

Like others have said you have less fun and have less options in f3 compared to f2.

Thats soooooooooooooooo bleeping stupid. Man. Its painful how bad the dialog in the game is. I was rarely excited outside combat.

There are ways to install the game without the DRM, i found directions through google. But still... WTF! They don't sell it, they license it! With that license you pay a tax, an impeding spy on your own computer!

So... it went from a fun and dirty game to a poisonous, stunted, impostor.

My favorite point of the game was went I went into VATS-the BULLET TIME mode that slows down time for tactical shots!!-just so i can see the enemy run behind a wall in slow motion! What the ----! I could have done better if I didn't use this Time Slowing Tactical Firing Mode Thing.

Jeeze man... and the dialog.. and the way your character looks in 3rd person, slides across the ground it looks weird.

Dont you game builders think about this? Falling asleep at the wheel you zombies!

OH!! And the walking!!

Most of the time it didn't feel like exploring, it just feel like traveling to a destination. I was never really free to go explore, I pull up the map and there is something tugging me..

The map sucked by the way, easily the worst in game area map I can recall. My gps works better and this guy lives in the future.. man..

The main quest was lacking I killed a bunch of slavers for children! How could wood hold me back? I have a rocket launcher!

Storyline is pitiful, some made for tv movie on the sci-fi channel kind of plot.

I was entertained sometimes, but usually the text was so DULL. SOOOO DULL. OPTION 1 OPTION 2 OPTION 3 And the are all full of suck!

Written by the same guys who do made for tv movies man! I swear!

Most of the modern game industry is just blaaah.

Okay not all of it but most of the games I play I end up seriously regret purchasing.

The worst is.. it could be so so so so so much better!! The technology is available! YOU HAVE THE POTENTIAL.

We, the gamer community crave for more!

You have more 1 star ratings than 5 star!!! CHANGE YOUR WAYS!

We dont want rehash of your other games! BE ORIGINAL BE INNOVATIVE

Whatever its just a game.

Wii Play with Wii Remote

Wii Play with Wii RemoteBundled with a Wii Remote, Wii Play offers a little something for everyone who enjoyed the pick-up-and-play gaming of Wii Sports. Whether you pick up the Wii Remote to play the shooting gallery that harkens back to the days of Duck Hunt or use it to find matching Miis, a world of fun is in your hands. In addition to the shooting gallery and Mii-matching game, Wii play offers billiards, air hockey, tank battles, table tennis rally, Mii poses and a cow-riding race.

Customer Review: It's an awesome game, but there a few feedbacks.

It's good, but there are problems.

In the first game, shooting range, the first time you play you end up shooting nothing. It's very hard to win a medal, but when you get the bronze, you can win the silver like nothing. And they are very nice in the awards ceremony. I used to not like when they subtracted points from you, but it made the game more challenging. I loved when they added points. I remember when I missed one target, and they gave me 45 points.

In the second game, find mii, it is very harsh about the time. I wish they gave you unlimited time. It's also bad that they don't have the miis swimming, unlike multiplayer mode. You should just go on multiplayer mode and pretend your opponents there. The swimming makes it more humorous than the walking and standing. They also have a good thing. They take miis. Not the premade ones in deca sports.

On ping pong, the third game, it's kind of fun, unless the time they foul you for not letting the computer hit the ball. They also don't let you swing, sadly. Anyways, there also good things, like when you get 10 points, there's a sound. Unfortunatly, it disturbs you. But you can get used to it when you play it more.

The 4th game is boring. It is very hard. But you will get used to it. The first three levels are nice because you don't change poses. But the fourth level and higher, it's just havoc. However, the scences are nice and colorful.

On the fifth game, lazer hockey, it's kind of fun. He's terrible at handling the ball when the ball's behind him. However, he always wins.

Billards is very fun. However, I don't like when they take away points when you have a foul. And I wish they didn't chose the ball that you're going to hit.

On fishing, it's very nice. The carton fish look nice, and the music sounds wonderful. It's nestled in a amazing pond, and the fish are NOT worth 1 point, as you might think. You could score up in the 700's.

Charge is awesome. The cow is drawn very well, and as you might expect, the others are drawn badly. But that's NOT true. I loved the gameplay. However, the 90 second time limit makes it cruel but challenging.

On tanks,it's the best game. It has tanks with rocket launchers, guns, and you can even lay mines. But they don't explode when you touch them. Overall, it's a good game and it's a good buy with the wii remote.

What We Think

Fun Factor:

Durability:

(what this means)

The Good: Experience the thrill of real night vision technology.

The Bad: The display screen will leave you wanting more.

In a Nutshell: A fun and entertaining toy that will keep older kids entertained for hours.

Ages: 8 and up
Requires: 5 AAA batteries
Darkness Is Your Ally...
With the EyeClops Night Vision goggles, your child can explore dark environments with advanced infrared technology. Set-up is easy. Simply insert five AA batteries into the battery pack at the back of the head-set, and slide the power switch to turn on the goggles. Once the screen display lights up inside of the right eye-piece, you can fit the goggles to your child's head by adjusting the soft rubber straps around top and sides.

EyeClops Night Vision goggles come equipped with a hinged, flip-up eye-piece that can be opened when the goggles are turned off, or closed when the goggles are in use. Your child can choose between the maximum surveillance mode which emits a barely-visible ring of red LEDs around the eyepiece so they can see up to 50 feet in absolute darkness, or go for the stealth mode to remain completely invisible while they explore the dark landscape immediately around them. A small switch on the side of the goggle head-set allows them to switch from a black-and-white to a green screen display.

Enhance Your Nighttime Stealth Operations
The futuristic design of the durable plastic head-piece adds to the fun of these exciting night vision goggles. Soft rubber molding around the goggles and adjustable straps across the top and sides makes them comfortable and easy to wear.

While the EyeClops Night Vision goggles provide a crisp, clear image of dark landscapes, they should always be used under adult supervision. Because the display screen is small and provides limited peripheral vision, these goggles should only be used in environments that are free of potential tripping hazards. As a nice safety feature, the goggles' handy flip-up eye-piece over the left eye provides immediate access to normal vision if your child becomes disoriented or needs to take a break from viewing through the small display screen located in the right eye-piece.

Durable and lightweight, these fun goggles work so well that you might just find yourself borrowing them from your child so you can have your turn enjoying some super stealth, covert nighttime missions of you own!

Customer Review: I'm a member of the broken clip club

The product looks like it is durable but don't be fooled. One of the side clips broke trying to get this out of the packaging! If it broke that easily how long will it last when in use??? Like many others I spent 20+min attempting to get it out of the packaging and was unable to do so without breaking the plastic clip. I attempted to contact Jakks directly to get a replacement clip, only to be frustrated again by having to leave messages (which were never returned). I decided to keep trying and after 5 more phone calls over several days I finally got a human. When I expained the problem, they admitted that there has been a lot of complaints and they are looking at redesigning the piece. They were more than willing to ship me replacement ones...

As far as the night vision goes it appears to work just fine. My son has not been able to use it hands free (due to the broken clip) but likes it. The 'vision' is only in the right eye...

If you buy it BE VERY CAREFUL taking it out of the box. If you are lucky you'll get it out without breaking the clip!

Customer Review: this toy is great

Wild Planet Hyper Dash

Wild Planet Hyper DashHyper Dash is an award-winning fast-paced race course game from Wild Planet that encourages kids to be active and think on their feet. Designed to improve listening, coordination and math skills, this exciting game is easy to set up and is an ideal way to help kids aged six and above to practice addition and subtraction while exercising and having fun.

The Hyper Dash helps kids develop basic math and color and number recognition skills. View larger.

What We Think

Fun Factor:

Durability:

(what this means)

The Good: Award-winning way to stay active; improves listening, memory and math skills

The Bad: Plastic unit may not hold up to lots and lots of rough play

In a Nutshell: Hyper Dash is a fun way for kids to exercise their bodies and their minds
At a Glance

Ages: 6 and up
Requires: 3 AA batteries
Fast, Easy Set-Up
The only set-up required is to install three AA batteries. Opening the battery compartment requires a small Phillips head screw driver, which means an adult needs to change the batteries. This keeps batteries in the right place during active play, but it also means that changing batteries on the fly requires you to have a screwdriver with you.

The manual is clear and concise, with descriptions of how to play and a list of all the special commands the Hyper Voice issues, so any child can be up and running in just a few minutes. There's no button to turn the unit off, but it quickly shuts itself off when not in use to save battery life.

Getting Moving Quickly
The electronic tagger plays upbeat music and calls out voice commands to control the game, while players following the commands race against the clock to tag targets identified by color and number. Kids can play solo, up to four players can compete head-to-head, or up to eight players can work cooperatively in teams of two. There's even a level where kids need to solve addition and subtraction problems to figure out which target to strike next.

With no complex set-up and no complicated directions to follow, younger children get started playing Hyper Dash quickly. Since players control where the five targets are positioned, there are infinite ways to play Hyper Dash. Combined with the fact that Hyper Dash offers four games to choose from with increasingly difficult levels to master, and it's easy to see why even older, more experienced players (including parents!) stay excited about this game.

Four-Games-in-One
The original game, Hyper Dash, features the Hyper Voice calling out commands. Four different levels allow the players' skills to progress. Level one includes only colors in the calls. The calls on level two are a little faster and include both colors and numbers, while level three adds special commands like "Double Strike," "Triple Strike," and "Reverse. " Level four features the "CompuStrike" call, which require kids to solve basic math problems, such as "four plus one" or "three minus two. "

In Team Dash, a special command indicates when the Hyper Dash unit should be handed off, turning the race against the clock into a relay. The games Micro Dash and Team Micro Dash set out sequences that get progressively longer and trickier, providing a challenging test of memory.

The Hyper Dash unit keeps track of times and scores, and the Hyper Voice announces the winner at the end of the game, cutting down on arguments. With only one Hyper Dash tagger, kids will have to wait their turn to play in multiple player games. This can be both a lesson in patience and an opportunity to cheer others on.

RFID Technology for a Flexible, Durable Game
Hyper Dash uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to recognize the targets. The same technology is used to track packages and to identify books and DVDs in many libraries. This means that a wireless signal connects the Hyper Dash unit and the targets, so there's no need to strike targets with force.

While the Hyper Dash tagger unit seems incredibly durable, it is made of plastic. Just because RFID technology means kids can tag targets lightly, it doesn't mean they will. Our one concern about the game is the possibility that hard play will damage the tagger over time.

With RFID, there's no limit to how far apart you set the targets. You can set them up at opposite ends of a football field for a serious test of endurance, or close together requiring fancy footwork. You can even them up next to each other to see who has the quickest hands. This flexibility makes Hyper Dash appropriate for both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Award-Winning Educational Fun
Kids have so much fun playing Hyper Dash that they don't realize how much they're learning. Parents will love the way Hyper Dash combines active play with lessons that support color and number recognition, basic math skills. The game's format also inspires better listening and improves kids' coordination. It's no wonder that Hyper Dash has won an iParenting Award and a Seal of Excellence Award from Creative Child Magazine, along with several other honors recognizing it as an innovative, educational toy.

Customer Review: great value

My kids were 8,6 and 3 when we got this game. They really love it. I can't say we paly all the time, but whenever we pull it out, good times are ahead! We have had it for a year now and still enjoy it. (I really never expected it to last that long, for the price I paid.) What I love most is that anyone can use it at any age, as long as they know their colors. That makes it more family friendly. I can also see it being a fun adult party game when used on a table.

Customer Review: almost TOO much Fun!

We initally bought this game for our nephew. When it came it said ages 6+ on it, so I decided we should try it out to make sure he would be able to play it as he is only 3. We had so much fun playing it that I ordred one for ourselves! My 3 older kids (2, 4, & 5) and I were running around laughing so much that my only complaint, if you need one, would be that I couldn't hear what the game wanted me to do over all the laughing. Very fun and can be played on level one by anyone who knows their colors. I really like that the kids can set it up and play by themselves.

Wii Music

Wii MusicWhen it comes to music and rhythm games, Wii Music stands in a class of its own. Unlike other music games, which penalize players if they don't play perfectly, Wii Music is a musical playground where there are no mistakes. Here anyone can pick up and master the huge array of instruments available, through simple motions like strumming and drumming. Musicians in your band jam by simply playing their instruments to the beat of a song or by improvising to their heart's content. Play faster. Play slower. Skip a beat, or throw in 10 more. No matter what you do, Wii Music automatically transforms your improv stylings into great music.

Gameplay: Getting Your Band Together
In Wii Music every band has six members: Two play the main melody, two cover the percussion beats, one covers the bass groove and one uses the song's chords to support the melody. As a band, the six members often play their special parts at the same time, though each player can jam however and whenever he or she wants. Play all at once. Take turns in the spotlight. Pair up in creative ways throughout the song. You can bring the band to life by yourself, playing one part at a time-or with up to four players. See game mode below:
  • Solo Play: When you play by yourself, you can add one part at a time to arrange the whole song exactly how you want. The Tutes are on hand to back up your band in any parts you need filled.
  • Multiplayer: When in a band with friends, up to four people can be band members.
  • Wii Friends: Using WiiConnect24, you can send your jam videos to Wii Friends who own Wii Music. They can then watch your performance, modify it to their liking and send their jam videos back to you.
Tutes: Your Own Private Back-up Band
When not playing with friends, you can invite jam masters known as Tutes to play with you. They'll join a session playing an instrument that each thinks is strong for a specific song. You can simply enjoy the musical camaraderie, or pick up instrument tips by watching them jam. If you choose to watch, the Tutes will show you lots of techniques for many of these instruments, then ask you to follow their examples. They'll start with the simplest techniques, then as you master each one, show you even more nuanced ones.

Key Game Features:

  • Easy to Play Improv Jams - All members of your band jam by simply playing their instruments to the beat of a song or by improvising to their heart's content. Play faster. Play slower. Skip a beat, or throw in 10 more. Wii Music challenges you to transform your improv stylings into great music. There are no mistakes and no game scores-just playing for the pure joy of playing.
  • Wii Controls Immerse You in the Music - You can play most of the 60-plus instruments in Wii Music using simple motions with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers. Strum to play guitar, banjo and sitar. Drum to play jazz drums, congas and snare drums. Hammer away to play piano, vibraphone and marimba. Unlike most music games, Wii Music doesn't make you use many complex buttons. You only need to imitate playing the instrument.
  • Virtually Endless Ways to Make Music - You choose the song and instruments and decide whether to blaze through a rock take on classical songs, put a jazzy spin on folk tunes or transform Nintendo classics like the Super Mario Bros. theme into Latin-flavored numbers. The song list is only a takeoff point-it's how you improvise with the songs that matters.
  • Share Your Band Jams With Friends - They'll see your Mii band members, your players' improv styles and your instrument selections. They can watch your recordings, or play over parts of your song, then send their modified recording back to you. So you can send improv jams back and forth over WiiConnect24, changing them again and again.

Fun Beyond the Jam
Designed with classic Wii gameplay in mind, Wii Music includes many other modes and play options besides the main band jams, including several musical games and an enhanced video playback mode for recorded jams.

  • Videos Mode: Watch your jam videos in an enhanced playback mode that brings your jams to life with fun environmental effects and dramatic camera angles.
  • Mii Maestro: By waving the Wii Remote like a conductor's baton in this mini-game, you'll lead a Mii orchestra through orchestrated songs, such as The Legend of Zelda theme. Make them play quickly, slowly, strongly or gently-the orchestra is at your command.
  • Handbell Harmony: In this musical mini-game, you'll play in a handbell ensemble by swinging your Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Everyone on the team has a job to do: play one of your notes only when the tune demands it.
  • Pitch Perfect: How good is your musical ear? In this whimsical musical quiz, you'll have to solve challenges, like putting note-playing Miis in order from lowest to highest pitch.
  • Drum Mode: In the one mode that uses the Wii Balance Board accessory (sold with Wii Fit), you can feel what it's like to play a real-life drum set. You'll use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk as drumsticks, and place both feet on the Wii Balance Board-which work as virtual pedals for the bass drum and hi-hat cymbal.

Customer Review: You either hate it ot you love it.

From what a guy at a game store told me, either you love it or you hate it. and you should probably rent it before you buy it. I bought it because it seemed like a fun game but almost returned it since people were giving eh reviews but luckily I opened it. I actually really liked the game a lot. It does looked like a simple game but actually, it is very complicated on the inside. When I first played it at the game store, all I could hear was the metronome and I could hardly hear the instrument and I was like, "aw, I paid for this game?" but that probably was cuz the instrument was playing really soft but once you get into the jam mode, with the fullbacking of the percussion, bass and chords, it sounds really good. For those who say it's a noise maker,it is if you aren't playing correctly. The key to playing good music in this game is having a good concept of rhythm. If you can't play on the beat and you play whatever, it's gonna sound like noise.

I agree with the others that the game is smart for the fact that they ease you in to playing more difficult styles. It's cool that you get to learn how to play different styles of music, (ie. jazz, rock, pop, latin, hawaiian, japanese...etc.). The part I did find annoying was once you have learned all the different styles, you'll notice you have played twinkle, twinkle little star like about 20 times and it get's pretty annoying even though you end up starting to arrange your own versions of the song. Besides the fact that your instructer does look like a muppet and is kind of annoying, that's besides the point. just push the button really fast to skip all of that. The only thing I wish with the game is that there were more songs and more instruments. 60 may seem a lot, but I got all of them really fast, probably cuz I played the game for like 5 days straight, and some of them are kind of weird so I don't count things like the cheerleader an instrument. Also, I personally really liked half the songs, I guess the more advanced ones and songs like la bamba and la cucaracha, I didn't care for much. Also another thing is it kind of sucs that you can't control the speed of the song cuz la bamba and la cucaracha is so slow and boring, I hardly recognized the song. but maybe that's supposed to be for the novices, since the rhythem is pretty simple and easy to play to at a slow pace. I especially like the video game songs and they have a couple 80's tunes/other tunes from pop culture it's kinda cool. I think the christmas songs they put could have been better chosen too but all an all, I liked it a lot. Too bad they couldn't put more.

Where the Wild Things Are

Where the Wild Things AreWhere the Wild Things Are is one of those truly rare books that can be enjoyed equally by a child and a grown-up. If you disagree, then it's been too long since you've attended a wild rumpus. Max dons his wolf suit in pursuit of some mischief and gets sent to bed without supper. Fortuitously, a forest grows in his room, allowing his wild rampage to continue unimpaired. Sendak's color illustrations (perhaps his finest) are beautiful, and each turn of the page brings the discovery of a new wonder.

The wild things--with their mismatched parts and giant eyes--manage somehow to be scary-looking without ever really being scary; at times they're downright hilarious. Sendak's defiantly run-on sentences--one of his trademarks--lend the perfect touch of stream of consciousness to the tale, which floats between the land of dreams and a child's imagination.

This Sendak classic is more fun than you've ever had in a wolf suit, and it manages to reaffirm the notion that there's no place like home.

Customer Review: Let The Wild Rumpus Start!

Among the hundreds of books my husband and I have purchased for our seven-year old daughter over the course of her young life, "Where the Wild Things Are" is one of the absolute best. She loves the freeing world that Max enjoys and its ever-so-slightly dangerous vibe. When she was younger, my husband and I loved the simple poetry and cadence. It's fun to read! It's almost like singing a song. (My daughter especially loved the female monster.)

The message is a good one: our imaginations are rich beyond measure, joy is a universal desire, and one need not go anywhere outside themselves to experience adventure.
